Welcome to Wee Foragers.

Wee Foragers provides locally sourced, seasonal nursery meals for children nourishing growing bodies while reconnecting them to the land, the rhythms of the seasons, and where food truly comes from.

We believe that food in the early years should do more than simply fill a plate. It should support healthy development, build positive relationships with eating, and help children feel grounded, regulated, and ready to learn.

That’s why our meals are created using fresh, locally and seasonally sourced ingredients, carefully chosen to reflect the natural environment around us. Everything we serve is free from ultra-processed foods and industrial seed oils just real, wholesome food made with care and integrity.

Rooted in a farm-to-fork approach, Wee Foragers supports children to develop a deeper understanding of food how it grows, where it comes from, and why it matters. By connecting food with nature and learning, we help nurture curiosity, wellbeing, and lifelong healthy habits.

Wee Foragers isn’t just a meal service it’s a movement towards better food for children, supporting settings to prioritise health, sustainability, and meaningful food experiences from the very start.

Our Food

We work with local suppliers and farmers to source seasonal produce wherever possible, prioritising non-ultra-processed, whole foods. When fresh items aren’t available, we use frozen ingredients to lock in peak-season flavour and nutrition rather than relying on processed alternatives. Our focus is on simple, minimally handled ingredients—fruits, vegetables, grains and proteins—prepared with care to preserve their natural goodness. By choosing locally sourced, seasonal and frozen-when-necessary produce, we reduce food miles, support the community and deliver meals that taste better and feel healthier.

Nurseries

Wee Foragers provides high-quality nursery meals designed to support early years settings in delivering both excellent care and education.

Our menus are fully aligned with national guidance, including Setting the Table, ensuring children receive balanced, nutritious meals that meet their developmental needs. All food is prepared using fresh, locally and seasonally sourced ingredients, free from ultra-processed foods and industrial seed oils.

We support staff teams by reducing the burden of meal planning and preparation, while enhancing practice through food. Our approach links directly to Curriculum for Excellence and Learning for Sustainability, using food as a tool to support children’s understanding of health, wellbeing, and the natural world.

In line with Realising the Ambition and Out to Play, we help create meaningful, nurturing experiences around food that promote curiosity, independence, and positive relationships with eating.

❊ Testimonials

Loved by Nurseries, Trusted by Parents, Devoured by Children!

Seriously! But don’t take our word for it, here are some things people have to say about us.

"They have always got peas and I like peas. And sweet corn. They are very tasty. I love the pesto pasta with peas, it’s good. I love the fruit too, lots of nice fruit."

Anna. (4 Years old)

We are absolutely delighted with the food provided at the nursery. As a parent, it gives me such peace of mind knowing that my children are being offered fresh, nutritious, organic meals of an exceptional standard every single day.

What makes it even more special is the incredible variety. The children are being introduced to a wide range of wholesome foods and different meats, including wild boar, venison, and pheasant — something you would rarely ever expect to find in a nursery setting.

It is wonderful to see a nursery placing such importance not only on nutrition, but also on helping children develop healthy habits and a positive relationship with food from such a young age. It has really encouraged my children to be more open to trying and enjoying a wider variety of foods.

Compared with the kind of processed, less nutritious meals often seen elsewhere, this feels truly exceptional. The care, thought, and standards behind the menu are unlike anything I have come across before, and it is so reassuring to know my children are eating such high-quality food while they are at nursery.

We feel very lucky to have found a nursery that values children’s nutrition and food education so highly. It will be very hard to leave!.

“We are very happy with the meals at nursery, we love that there’s a fantastic range of fresh and local ingredients going into the meals. Our daughter always comes home and speaks enthusiastically about what she’s eaten at nursery. We've tried a couple of her favourites at home now too.”
